Community and Economic Development Services

PPL's Regional Community Relations Directors work actively in leadership roles and live within the regions they serve.  They can be your first point of contact with a powerful consortium of partners including state, regional, county and local leaders, realtors and developer—the PPL Economic Development Network.

To contact or identify the Regional Community Development Director for each region, visit (link to RCRD Territory Map).  PPL’s community and economic development services are available at no cost or obligation and in the strictest confidence.

  • Energy Efficiency - PPL ACT 129 Programs
    • Your business can save energy and money with E-power, an unprecedented package of tools, incentives and rebates that could have a positive impact on your company’s bottom line – and the environment.
    • The prudent investment you make in energy efficiency will keep paying dividends for years to come.  However, these rebate and incentive programs won’t last forever.  Visit www.pplelectric.com/e-power and click on “Small Business” or “Commercial and Industrial.”

Among the new options that will be offered are:

  • Rebates to customers who install energy-efficient equipment and products.  The most current list of eligible measures and rebate forms can be found at www.pplelectric.com/e-power or by calling 1-866-660-4551.
  • Programs to cover the registration costs for LEED certification.
  • Custom Incentives offer funding for energy efficiency projects, retro-commissioning and equipment optimization that result in cost effective, measurable electrical energy savings.
  • The custom incentive component of the program offers an incentive of 10 cents per kilowatt hour reduced based on the approved predicted average annual savings for one year.  Under the Technical Study component of the program you may also qualify for 50 percent reimbursement of the study’s cost.
  • Commercial customers who have their heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems tuned up and improved to increase energy efficiency can realize significant savings. Financial incentives are given to the technician to diagnose and correct performance problems as well as undertake energy-saving retrofits.
  • Appliance recycling of your extra lunchroom residential-sized refrigerator or freezer that is more than 10 years old or for window air conditioners.
  • Financial incentives for customers who reduce electricity use during peak hours or install remote-controlled devices on certain appliances so that the company can scale back electric use when summer demand is highest. EXPECTED TO LAUNCH NEAR THE END OF 1020.
  • Businesses that use incandescent light bulbs in their offices can get great discounts on compact fluorescent light bulbs.  Look for participating retailers at www.pplelectric.com/e-power under “Lighting”.
